The snow is finally gone and racing action is just around the corner. Our opening date is May 17th, pending weather. We will start track work probably next week. Look for minor track changes and , as always, volunteers are needed to help. I'll post times when we'll be working on the track.
We also need help distributing posters and flyers about our track to any places where youth gather. We have a beginners clinic scheduled for May 21st at 10am. The cost is $15. There will be another clinic in August also.
We also are putting together a jersey order for all Buffalo Creek BMX riders. Contact me with sizes. They will be $40 each, and entitle the rider to participate on the track team. The State race series has been enhanced with a team series and Pro-Am racing action.
We are also looking for businesses to sponsor races for as little as $50. Contact me for further details about this great opportunity to highlight your business!
Lastly, we have a booth this Saturday at the Hutchinson Family Fun Expo at the McLeod County Fairgrounds from 8am-4pm. Volunteers are needed to help answer questions at the booth and promote the sport of BMX. We also have informational classes on BMX at the Hutchinson Middle School on May 4th & 12th at 7pm. Sign up at Community Ed to learn more.
Our next board meeting will be held at Ryan's office on April 19th at 8pm. Call Ryan for directions.
